About the Author
H.V.Sudarshan (Hindupur V. Sudarshan), as a Consultant in the Air Navigation Bureau of ICAO, Montreal, coordinates and supports global and regional implementation of CNS/ATM systems. He has authored guidance material on National Plan for CNS/ATM Systems (published as ICAO Circular 278) for ICAO for the benefit of States, and has also comprehensively contributed to the development of the Global Air Navigation Plan (ICAO Doc 9750) and the Middle East regional plan for CNS/ATM systems. On behalf of ICAO, he has conducted 25 hands-on workshops worldwide, covering the seven ICAO regions on the subject of planning and implementation of CNS/ATM systems.
Prior to joining ICAO, he worked as Director, Radio Construction and Development Unit, at the Airports Authority of India. In this assignment, he was responsible for the project management of CNS facilities. Furthermore, he served on two ICAO ANC Panels of Communications (ASPP) and Navigation (AWOP) and developed/presented the study report on ILS/MLS transition to ICAO SP COM/OPS meeting in Montreal in April 1995. He holds a Bachelor degree in Science as well as in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Hyderabad University, India, and Diploma in Business Management as well as Financial managment from Bombay University, India. He lives with his wife and two children in Montreal, Canada.
